REPORT FOR THE GANIT WEEK CELEBRATIONS HELD AT
SALTUJ PUBLIC SCHOOL, SECTOR 4, PANCHKULA
GANIT (Growing Aptitude in Numerical Innovations and Training) Week was celebrated from16th to 22nd December 2014 in Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula. Students had attended different sessions in which series of activities were conducted and students had learnt lots of innovative things during these sessions. Following activities were conducted –
On 16th December 2014 : Lecture on Mathematics by Prof. Nitika Pal, M.Sc. (Mathematics), Ph.D. During the session, the students were encouraged to understand the Mathematics in the simple way and were told to inculcate a daily time table for Maths to improve their reasoning, logical and analytical skills.
On 17th December 2014 : Essay Writing Competition was held in our school on the topics like “Importance of Zero”, “Importance of Mathematics in Daily Life”, “I Like Mathematics” etc. Students participated enthusiastically. Photographs attached.
On 18th December 2014 : Quiz Competition was organized in the various classes, which helped the students to enhance their reasoning and logical skills.
On 19th December 2014 : Experience Sharing on innovation by teachers and students. Discussion session was held between the teachers and the taught on the various innovation in the field of Mathematics. Photograph attached.
On 20th December 2014 : Screening of films produced by Vigyan Prasar. Online movie was shown to the students regarding S. Ramanujan and his contribution in the field of Mathematics.
On 22nd December 2014 : Origami and Poster Making Competition : Various Origami objects were made by the students during the session and was followed by poster making on Mathematics.
A formal function was organized and S. Ramanujan birthday was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm by the students and the Maths Department of the Satluj Public School.
