Press Note on Teacher's Day

Commendation certificates and gifts were presented to teachers by Satluj management for their outstanding roles in the various areas of teaching and learning on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. Students performed a skit, dances and gave speeches in honour of teachers. Exciting games, fashion show, titles were given to teachers to make their day special. The Principal, Mr. Gur K. Serai congratulated all teaching faculty and said “Teachers are nation builders. They are a great source of inspiration for others. A good teacher helps in moulding future citizen”.

Satluj Junior embrace dressing as Book Characters

English Book week was concluded by students, teachers and members of the School management were all were dressed up as story book characters. There were various characters like Charlie Chaplin, Horrid Henry, Charlotte Web, Harry Porter, Bob the builder, Tom Sawyer, Madeline, Marry Poppins, Pied Piper, Alice, Cinderella, Richie Rich, Pirates etc. They were carrying the respective story book with them while walking on the stage.

The Principal said that the aim of the event was to encourage students to read more. He also said if you feel the character, dress up as the character, you will surely find the book more interesting and relate better with the story. The students were inspired and thoroughly enjoyed the event.

Press Note on Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

Special assembly was commemorated by Junior Satlujians to celebrate the birthday of the father of the nation. Students of grade 3 presented short skits depicting the inspiring incidents of Gandhiji’s life. Some students were dressed as Gandhi and some as wise monkeys representing the principle “see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil”. On the occasion, the Principal motivated students to maintain health and hygiene as part of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. The function was a fruitful venture towards cleanliness.

Press Note on Independence Day Celebrations

70th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm. Students of Class- II presented a musical heart touching skit showcasing our struggle of Independence. National symbols, facts and achievements of India was presented by class III. Colourful dances, drills were performed on the occasion. Many colourful craft activities, slogan writing and quiz contests were also held on the occasion. The Director Mr. Pritam Singh Serai guided that we should value our Independence and strives hard to make our nation a developed country.

Press Note on Cambridge Convocation

We at Satluj believe in raising our children to be global citizens. At Satluj the seed of Cambridge Young Learners was sown 14 years back. The tremendous performance of the children who have outshined themselves was appreciated by awarding children with trophies, medals and certificates on the Cambridge convocation held on 22nd July in the school.

PRESS NOTE ON FAMILY DAY

Nursery class scholars of Satluj Public School celebrated Family Day with enthusiasm.  To mark the celebrations, students were assigned different roles such as grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, brother and sister under the guidance of teachers. Enactment was done to make the students realise the importance of family bonding. The motive behind the celebrations was to imbibe the feeling of love and care in the young minds. In the present scenario of having a nuclear family, it is essential to organize such activities to inculcate in children the value of love and respect for the elders of the family.

26th July 2017

Teej, the festival of colours, swings and buzzing fairs was celebrated in Satluj Public School, Sector-2, Panchkula. Young Satlujians were dressed in traditional costume. They tapped their feet on monsoon songs. To add more enjoyment to the occasion, the teachers danced with the students and made the festival more joyful.

 

Press Note on International Tiger Day

Tiger Day was celebrated by the scholars of Kinder Garten. Various activities were conducted wherein scholars were given specific information on the big cat family. They were informed about the sharp decline in the tiger population due to poaching and other reasons. The aim was to stress upon “save the stripes” campaign.

PRESS NOTE ON EARTH DAY

Satlujians celebrated Earth Day in a big way. Students of Grade IV walked with the messages of Saving Earth in sector-2. They were spreading the message through posters and banners. The rally was led by the Principal Mr. Gur Serai. Students of Grade III presented a special assembly forging the theme of “Saving Earth”. The local municipal councilor of sector-2, Ms. Mamta Mittal also attended the assembly. She guided the students to look after the surroundings of school and neighbourhood.

School Council

To provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, we have introduced the ‘School Council’ which supports the agenda of ‘Pupil Voice’. School Council provides a platform where representatives from all Year Groups will discuss and propose resolutions about issues which are important to the students they represent. For electing school councilors, students were made aware of the election process. They were guided to file manifestoes, to cast votes and finally announcing the winners. It was a great learning experience for students where they learnt about the importance of Democracy.

Welcome party was organized for the children of Pre-Nursery, Nursery and K.G. The theme of the party was minions. All children came dressed up in bright colourful yellow and blue summer dresses. Teachers were also dressed up in super hero costumes.

Children enjoyed different exciting activities like fashion show, dance party, train rides, sand pit and bowling. Children enjoyed snacks party during their break time. It was really a fun time for them. The aim of the party was to make children familiarize with school and teachers.

Press Note on Baisakhi Celebrations

Junior Wing of Satluj Public School celebrated Baisakhi, the Harvest festival of North India on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Scholars of Grade III presented a special assembly in which they shared the significance of the festival. They also sang and danced to the thrilling music.

On the occasion, the Director Mr. Pritam Singh Serai mentioned the history of the festival. The Principal, Mr. Gur K. Serai, wished all the students and staff a happy and prosperous beginning of the New Year. Children were dressed in traditional ethnic attires and were excited to be part of the festivities.

Press Note on World Heart Day

World Heart Day was celebrated in the assembly. Students of class IV shared the history of World Heart Day, which is celebrated on the 29th September. Through pictorial presentations, scholars shared the functioning of the heart. Tips were also given how to keep our heart healthy. Later on all the students alongwith the teachers were involved in a 12 minutes workout session.

FITNESS WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS AT SATLUJ

Satluj Public School, Junior Wing in Panchkula organised a fitness workshop for its entire faculty. Dance sessions were held to re-boost and re-energize the spirits. Different dance forms like Bollywood, Zumba and Bhangraaerobics helped teachers to distress and infused them with enthusiasm and exuberance for their work. The Principal, Mr. Gur K. Serai joined the faculty throughout the workshop.He said that such refreshing sessions develops creativity and builds a stronger bond amongst staff. He also emphasized the importance to remain physically active and work together as a team to support the learning and emotional needs of children at Satluj. He strongly believes that happy and physically active teachers make happy and physically active children.

Cambridge English organised a two days Teachers Support Programme at Satluj Public School, Panchkula. The seminar was well attended by various schools across Punjab and Haryana. The senior trainee Ms. Monisha from Faridabad trained the teachers for Young Learners English courses. Interesting and engaging activities were held along with introduction of latest interactive teaching techniques. The junior wing Principal Mr. Gur K Serai appreciated the initiative of Cambridge English for organising such training sessions for teachers which helps them to use innovation in their regular teaching. He emphasized the importance of the power of speaking grammatically correct English in this competitive world.
